On 11 April 2025, Kuantan Port had the honour of co-hosting an official visit by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport, YBhg. Dato\u2019 Jana Santhiran Muniayan, who was accompanied by the Under Secretary of the Maritime Division, YBrs. Dr. Siva Sangar Krishnan. They were warmly welcomed by Puan Hasnita Binti Mohd Hanapiah, General Manager of Lembaga Pelabuhan Kuantan (Kuantan Port Authority), and En. Mazlim Bin Husin, Chief Commercial Officer of Kuantan Port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit began with a comprehensive briefing on Kuantan Port\u2019s strategic role within Malaysia\u2019s maritime ecosystem. The visit began with a detailed briefing on Kuantan Port\u2019s strategic importance in Malaysia\u2019s maritime sector. The delegation was informed that the port plays a key role in handling major commodities, making it one of Malaysia\u2019s leading dry bulk terminals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session also highlighted Kuantan Port\u2019s transformation into a value-added logistics hub, with a key focus on its collaboration with Petronas CCS Solutions Sdn. Bhd. to develop a Carbon Capture and Storage hub in Pahang. Key infrastructure projects were also discussed, notably the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), which is expected to significantly enhance inland cargo connectivity and support future carbon transport requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit concluded with a guided tugboat tour of Kuantan Port 1 and 2, providing the delegation with a first-hand view of the port\u2019s operational landscape. This meaningful visit reflects the federal government\u2019s strong commitment to positioning Kuantan Port as a key regional maritime gateway and a catalyst for economic growth along the East Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
