Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn. Bhd. (Kuantan Port) was honoured to welcome YBrs. Puan Zalina Zainol, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment Promotion & Facilitation) of the Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA), and her delegation for a working visit last week.
The visit focused on ECRL-linked Economic Accelerator Projects (EAPs) and the role of Kuantan Port in supporting national logistics and industrial growth. The delegation was briefed on our infrastructure, cargo-handling operations, and future developments aligned with the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL).
A key highlight was the progress of our rail integration, with two spur lines, one at Kuantan Port 1 and another at Kuantan Port 2, currently under construction to connect Kuantan Port directly to the ECRL main line. This integration will enable seamless cargo transport along the entire East Coast Rail Link corridor and beyond. Construction of the spur line within Kuantan Port 2 has now reached 80%, bringing us closer to full operational readiness.
This visit also provided a platform to exchange insights on port management, business strategies, and sustainable practices, reinforcing the strong collaboration between MIDA and Kuantan Port.
As a primary logistics hub for the ECRL, we remain committed to supporting Malaysia’s long-term investment objectives and look forward to sharing updates as this milestone nears completion
