MV Albero Makes Maiden Call at Kuantan Port, Reopening Direct East Malaysia Connectivity

Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn. Bhd. (Kuantan Port) proudly welcomed MV Albero on her maiden call to Kuantan Port, operated by Konsortium Perkapalan Timur under the Perdana Timur Service.

This marks a historic milestone, as it revives direct container shipping between Kuantan and ports in Sabah and Sarawak. This connection has not been available for over 30 years, with the last direct service being the Cruise Muhibah.

The new service provides businesses with a more efficient and reliable option for cargo movement, reducing transit time and improving connectivity between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.

Current service routes include:
▪ Pasir Gudang – Kuantan – Kuching – Bintulu – Kuantan
▪ Kuantan – Tanjung Langsat – Pasir Gudang – Kuching – Bintulu – Kuantan

Kuantan Port remains committed to supporting regional trade growth and strengthening Malaysia’s maritime connectivity, while exploring opportunities to facilitate businesses and create new trade pathways.
